  • Flint River Trail
Funds will be used to construct the trail, which will include engineering design, easement acquisition and actual construction of the trail. $1,000,000 in FY 09 Federal Highway Administration Transportation Enhancement funds have been requested. This trail system will significantly boost tourism and the economy of the Great River Region.
  • Highways
Federal assistance is needed to insure that Highway 61 in Southeast Iowa and Highway 34 in West Central Illinois will be completed as for lane. These two projects are essential to the economic development of the region.
  • Lift Span Railroad Bridge
The BNSF railroad bridge over the Mississippi River at Burlington is urgently in need of replacement. The replacement of the bridge at its current site is projected to cost $168 million. • Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force
Restoration of greater funding of BYRNE-JAG is critically needed.
